Can I create a hyperlink to send an email in my DIY Builder?
To create a hyperlinked email link in your website:
1) Enter the email address or text you want to open the email in your webpage.
2) Highlight the email address or word(s) you wish to have the link attached to by holding your left mouse button down while you roll your mouse over it.
3) Select the Hyperlink tool from the menu bar by clicking the icon that looks like a globe with a chain in the bottom right or by press the ctrl+k keys simultaneously. A box will open for you to enter the link properties.
4) If the text you highlighted was an email address the DIY builder will automatically choose "External" as the link option and enter the text mailto:<email address> for you i.e. hosting@domainz.net.nz, if you have highlighted a word or words, choose the "external" link option and, in the URL box below, enter Mailto:<email address> (where <email address> is the email address you wish the email to be sent to and do not include the quotes).
Note: you can also get a subject line added to your email when it opens in the customers email program if you add a question mark (?), the word "subject=" and then the test of the subject line you wish after the email address i.e. you link might look like:
mailto:hosting@domainz.net.nz?subject=Feedback from my website |
